What’s up everyone,
PvP in Dune: Awakening is already brutal — you’ve got faction wars, raids, rival houses, sandworms, environmental hazards — everything’s against you. So the idea of buying items from U4GM really grabs my attention. Could mean the difference between getting roasted out on the dunes or actually surviving.
From a PvP standpoint, this gives big advantages:
But there are drawbacks / balancing factors:
My take:
I’ll probably buy some high‑impact tools (vehicle, blueprint) to get ahead early. But I’ll still max out crafting skills, collect resources, farm. Because owning the tools is one thing; knowing how to use them well in PvP is another. Gear without skill is just noise.
Also, I hope devs are watching this. If U4GM becomes a major route for players, they might adjust PvP matchmaking, or balance buffs/nerfs to account for bought vs earned gear.
Curious: those who have faced opponents who used bought items — how did that feel? Was the weapon/armor obviously “too good,” or did it feel fair?

From a PvP standpoint, this gives big advantages:
- Faster access to high‑damage weapons or armor allows you to hit harder right away. That can tilt skirmishes.
- Mobility tools/vehicles bought early let you explore or capture objectives faster.
- Rare schematics or upgrades that others are still grinding for can let you build better bases or defenses.
But there are drawbacks / balancing factors:
- Durability matters — even bought gear can degrade, so maintenance/fixing still costs time/resources.
- If too many players are buying gear, then the field gets more even — sort of “arms race,” which may devalue the advantage.
- Reputation: Some guilds may look down on players who rely heavily on bought items — perhaps preferring self‑made or earned gear.
